The Outfit that Never Was.. & a Perfect Salon Experience

First off, i've literally been trying since October to shoot a similar version of this outfit. I've worn it at least 3 times and every time I haven't had the chance to shoot it. Well I'm certainly glad I got to shoot it for this look!

I went to get my hair done at a Marie Lou & D salon in SOHO last week. If you follow me on Instagram you'll know that this is the same place that I had my birthday manicure done! (Note: these 2 visits were totally unrelated)
Anyway, when they contacted me wanting me to come in for a blow out, I immediately emailed them back with a big YES!

I was SUPER impressed with my manicure from the week before, so I thought I would have a similar experience with my long locks. I was right!

From the moment I walked in, both times, I felt welcomed. Katie, the stylist that did my hair was very attentive and took into consideration what I wanted. I'm not usually one to change things up, but I went into this appointment wanting to do something different.

Katie noticed from my Instagram that I usually wear my hair down, so she asked if I wanted to try a cool updo. I'm so glad I said yes! She Dutch braided the top of my hair into a curly ponytail, then wrapped a small section of hair around the ponytail. I was so happy with the result!
I didn't have a shoot planned for that day, and I had the insane wind working against me, but I ran home and and knew this outfit would complement my new hair perfectly!

Needless to say, I'm already planning my next visit to Marie Lou & D, I'm even planning on bringing some friends along with me!

these are the products Katie used on my hair.
That Hairspray is absolutely amazing... Not only did my hair stay looking pretty good for the amount of wind that I had to deal with, BUT it literally didnt even feel like I had hairspray in my hair at all... Yeah, I'll be buying this one.

If you're in the NYC area, stop in or make an appointment with Katie! Tell them I sent you! 😉

PS: If you book thru LookBooker you can get $10 off your first appointment!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Casual Wear | Slouchy Sweater & Cozy Blanket Scarf

HELLO! Long time, no chat! Things have been pretty darn busy up here, I'm hoping for now to get at least one post up per week, some weeks that might be harder than others, but just bear with me!

Dan and I are renovating a coop and weekends, basically for the last 6 weeks have been jam packed with visiting home improvement stores, cabinet shops, tile stores, decor stores, furniture stores... You name it, I've been there. Like I said, I'm going to try to aim for once a week from here on out!

Lets get down to business... this scarf, I love... LOVE! Its so warm and its not to overwhelming, like a lot of other blanket scarves can be, which I really appreciate. You can get your very own with my coupon code too! [sprinklesandsequins20 with get you 20% off ! ] I also love this scarf and these hats!

Also, these shoes... I'M OBSESSED! I'm going to be honest, the fit is a little weird. I ordered by usual 7.5 and the first time I wore them, I swore they were too tight, so i ordered the 8 and they seem a tad too loose. I do wear them with socks (these to be exact). I still have both pairs, so I have to decide which ones to keep!

Anyway! I hope you guys have a great rest of the week!

Grey & Black by the Train Tracks

I can now say that, after 3 years of blogging, I am OFFICIALLY a blogger... I have taken photos by the train tracks *insert crying laughing emoji*

I am OBSESSED with this cardigan that I received from My Sister's Closet Boutique, like obsessed. It is so warm and softer than I imagined it to be! I can see layering it under turtlenecks (I love these and they're currently on sale for an extra 30% off with code SHOPGIFTS) for extra warmth, or even belting it at the waist for a cool look over leggings (these are my faves)! Heck, I would even wear it as a robe in the spring/fall months. Grey is having a major moment in my closet so this really fit the bill!

I especially love that everything on the My Sister's Closet website is under $40!
